Consulting leading Public Health Professionals for the design of PPHA
Forum convened by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department to seek input from cross-sectoral leaders

The Project Management Unit (PMU) for the establishment of Punjab Public Health Agency (PPHA) started operating in Nov 2016. It has been working closely with the departments of health and senior health

officials for undertaking a rapid situational analysis and designing of the PPHA against its defined functions. As the PMU was finalizing the concept design, a need was felt to integrate valuable inputs of relevant stakeholders into the policy and design framework. The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Government of Punjab therefore organized a policy dialogue with senior stakeholders on April 26, 2017 at the Royal Palm Gold and Country Club, Lahore. The objective was to introduce PPHA’s envisioned scope, mandate and functions, reflect on the framework developed and build consensus on the way forward. The dialogue was attended by over 80 senior public health officials from both public and private sectors. The feedback received during the dialogue has since been incorporated into the design and functions of PPHA.
