Public Health Practitioner Fellowships
This program offers a valuable opportunity to earn money for their living expenses while they learn. This program provides funding for the practitioners to support their academic interests with applied public health experiences. The selected applicants will undergo an extensive on-job training program, linked to national and international certification in field investigation and epidemiology. They will work as a member of the PPHA team and will be provided training and experience to develop the competencies agreed for field epidemiologists.
Being part of a workplace-based learning programme the PH practitioners will be enhancing their competencies through service, underpinned by theoretical understanding of concepts taught during didactic training modules. They will be engaged under supervision in outlining teaching requirements, assistance during training, curriculum preparation, training evaluation; outbreak investigations; designing and conducting field research; Data entry, cleaning, validation, quantitative and qualitative analysis; documenting case studies, event reports, article writing; representing PPHA at national and international forums
